Emerald Erin Black Beauty Bra Pattern Review
Don’t freak out, this isn’t a bra blog now. A Braog if you will. Alas, this is the last of my chest meat (and upper tummy chunk) you’ll be seeing for a little bit. Or not! Who cares. Once you post one pic of yourself in a bra online, does it even really matter? I’m mostly just embarrassed that so many people now can see my stretched out first tattoo on my ribs. Don’t regret it, just not necessarily my best work.
Erin, of Emerald Erin fame, may not have realized that she would become my breasts fairy god mother when she asked me to pattern test her first pattern, the Black Beauty Bra, this winter. First she asked for my bra size. Then she asked for my measurements. And then she was like “Ma’am, you are not wearing the correct bra size.” So she sent me a bra she had already made to make sure she had my right size.
Gosh darnit if that wasn’t the best fitting bra I had ever put on my human body. I sent her pics of me sporting her witchcraft bra, she tweaked the size and band length a little bit and then sent me the pattern
A small disclaimer: I’ve lost about 25 pounds in-between the time that she sent me that original bra and the time I ended up making them. So the fit is not perfect but it’s by far better than the bra I had been shamelessly sporting for a year. Erin even sent me a bra making kit which she definitely did not need to do but was so nice of her, especially considering I immediately lost said bra making kit. Yes, I am the worst, thank you for asking. I ended up making the Black Beauty Bra out of a kit I bought years ago instead and then as soon as I finished I found Erin’s original bra kit.
When it comes to making the actual bra let me say Erin is a meticulous witch of boob magic. She perfectly explains bra making and the construction of this bra. I’ll be honest, I’m very intimidated by bra making. I look at almost every bra pattern and think “that would be nice to have, but looks scary to make.” But it turns out it’s not as scary as it looks! If I can make this bra, you can definitely make this bra.
I genuinely hope you check out this bra pattern because it’s so meticulously crafted with love by Erin. Let me know if you’re interested in bra making, and look forward to a blog boob break!
