Hello!

This is a blog dedicated to documenting sewing self drafted and indie sewing patterns, consuming less, being better to people and the earth, creative exploration, and my life and times in Rochester, NY.

Hello one and all and welcome to the most wonderful time of the year: October. Also known as Spooky Season. Unless Spooky Season starts for you when you first find one orange leaf on the ground on September first because that’s when it starts for me.

I’ve been waiting to throw a Halloween party, well, all year. And now that it’s about that time I’m here to show you every single DIY i’m doing to prepare. From food and drink to decor and style- expect multiple blog posts a week during October to get you ready for the most wonderful time of the year. We’ll start with this amazing matching set made from gifted Spoonflower fabric.

I’ll be going more in depth about these two pieces separately in posts this month but the set is made out of Spoonflower’s new (and affordable!) Petal Cotton. The fabric has a nice heft and texture that sets it apart from quilting cotton but can literally have any kitschy pattern printed on it. It’s the best of both worlds.

Heidi Kenney designed this fabric, along with every good halloween pattern ever.

So get your skulls out and get ready for the best spooky season of your life.
